Permed Hair Home Care Recommendations and Tips

 

Do not shampoo your hair for 48 hours after your perm service.  You can wet it down and put products in, but perm manufacturers tell us not to wash it until 48 hours have passed.

If you color your hair, it is recommended to wait at least 1 week after your perm to do so.  We do have color options in the salon to blend your color regrowth until you are able to do your usual color service – ask your stylist for details.

​

Professional sulfate-free products are always best for chemically treated hair.  All of our products at Heads Up are sulfate-free, paraben free, cruelty free, color safe, and most are even gluten free and vegan!  We have a variety of cleansing, conditioning, and styling products and your stylist can recommend the best one for your specific hair needs.

Please note that we cannot guarantee the longevity of any chemical service if you are not using professional quality products.

If you plan on heat drying or styling your hair – a thermal protectant is extremely important!  We have some dedicated thermal protectants and most all of the rest of our styling products have built in heat protection.  Ask your stylist which is the best fit for you.
